Abstract

Remaja merupakan fase peralihan yang sangat mudah dipengaruhi oleh lingkungan maupun budaya baik positi maupun negatif. Perilaku negatif akan menjadikan faktor resiko terjebak untuk perilaku yang menyimpang salah satu jenis kenakalan remaja yaitu perilaku merokok. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhinya adalah self control. Tujuan penelitian ini mengetahui hubungan self control dengan perilaku merokok pada remaja. Jenis penelitian korelasional dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Jumlah populasi 326 remaja, jumlah sampel sebanyak 180 remaja diambil menggunakan proposional random sampling. Metode pengumpulan data melalui kuisoner. Analisa data menggunakan uji statistik chi square.  Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan self control dengan perilaku merokok pada remaja dengan p-value 0,000 (p<0,05 Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi landasan bagi pelayanan untuk terus meningkatkan program penyuluhan kesehatan khususnya terkait bahaya merokok pada remaja guna untuk meningkatkan kesehatan remaja.
